8 APARTMENTS

LOMO LOS FRAILES

In recent years, the area of Tamaraceite and Lomo los Frailes in the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has been undergoing a process of expansion due to the development of new commercial areas and the substantial improvement of communications infrastructure, until it has become a crossroads between the north and south of the island. Despite this growth, it still maintains a marked neighborhood character, with low-density buildings and access to multiple green and commercial areas. Because of this, the area is being revitalized and is beginning to be an attractive option for many young people who want to start a life in a good apartment, without the economic pressure of living in the city center.

With these conditions we have decided to develop 8 modern and minimalist apartments, focused on "Built to Rent", looking for a compromise between the quality of the space and the design and economy of the project.

Due to the urbanistic circumstances, we have had to offer a solution in two independent buildings, in order to obtain the largest number of housing units that the plot can offer. We have used color to mark the difference between the two buildings, while maintaining a common language in both solutions.

STANDARD APARTMENT FLOOR

The objective with the design of this space has been to optimize the comfort conditions of the inhabitants. At the entrance, attached to the central module, the refrigerator and the storage space are arranged, which represent all the high elements we need in the apartment. In this way, the rest of the furniture can be low, freeing the dividing wall, and increasing the spatial perception of the living room. The opening of the living room through a balcony door, generates a clear relationship between inside and outside, allowing tenants to enjoy access to the outside, from their own home. allows placing the kitchen in the transit space, loosely, optimizing the use of space.
